Ketosis is the key - how to get there? is the important question.

It is now clear that people with M benefit from being in ketosis, it also seems anecdotally true that it is easier for us to get into ketosis than for the general population. My suggestion is that a strict Ketogenic Diet is not a necessity, and there are simple changes we can make to get into ketosis regularly.

A low carb diet and consistent fasted morning exercise may be a relatively simple way to help people with M lead a better life. To this end I will document my food intake and exercise this week and check my levels of blood ketones to test the theory.

I played cricket on Saturday and at 64 opened the batting, batted for nearly 20 overs and then kept wicket for 36 overs (glutes have been feeling it since) and as I was in ketosis I had no M issues whatsoever.

I started today at 86.2kg, so up a little on my post Samui return weight...a couple of beers post cricket on Saturday no doubt contributing. Playing again tomorrow so today is key in my preparation. Plan to cut the snacks and have a late brunch and then an evening meal with a modest carb intake. Tomorrow I will fast until my participation in the match is done. I will also arrive early for a good long warm up walk/jog and then test my ketone level.
