Cricket has begun but not as I had hoped...but ketosis working well

Yesterday was my 1st Over 60s match of the cricket season Berkshire 2nd XI away to Sussex. Preparation started on Monday, eating low carb and fitting in a good 50 minute treadmill session. Dinner was again low carb and then I fasted until after my contribution to the game was done. So as we batted first that was at the end of the game. Had we fielded first it would have been when I finished batting. In ketosis I very rarely think about M and am able to focus totally on the ball, and playing Over 60s I feel I am competing on an even playing field with M, simply because most everyone at our age has some ailment they are combating.

I prepared perfectly to get into ketosis, which is key to playing without worrying at all about M. I fasted, walked a lot before the match, had two coffees and felt great. Went out to bat, felt good, played back to my first ball, missed it and it scraped the top of off stump ending my innings rather prematurely. That's cricket, at times the most frustrating of sports but also the sport that has saved me from the worst of M, more to come on this latter point.

The only thing to do then was  extra steps.....managed 10k steps for the day without including any during our 26 overs of fielding, where I moved quite a lot. No M issue at all and this morning not even a hint of soreness. When I was younger the next few days after playing I was as stiff as a board. Ketosis saves me from that.
